Someone Cares

August 6th, 2009

In these difficult seasons of life, it is comforting to realize that God knows all about our situation, and He cares about us. During our struggles, He invites us to turn to the wisdom of the Bible for encouragement, help, and hope.

It is my prayer that these devotional readings be an instrument to help guide you to that encouragement. As you read each devotion and its accompanying biblical principles, you will discover four certainties that every child of God can count on in times of financial hardship, sickness and suffering:

  1. God gives you reason to hope.
  2. God hurts when you hurt.
  3. God knows why you are suffering.
  4. God is in control.

And though it may seem difficult to embrace these truths now, I hope that your heart will grow in these assurances as you consider the devotional articles and the biblical truths they present.  My deepest desire for you is reflected in the words of Paul the apostle.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus

Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort,

who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we

may be able to comfort those who are in any

trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves

are comforted by God (2 Corinthians 1: 3-4).
